With 26% of the active population in industry, the Ardennes today produces high technology parts for the automotive industry, railways (TGV high-speed train) the aeronautical industry (Airbus, the Ariane rocket) due largely to extensive opening towards the outside world through exports and the arrival of foreign firms, but also due to considerable commitment of Ardennes firms with relation to quality.
